Inspirational Person: Mylene and her love of weight training

Why do I want to feature an inspirational person in my newsletter?

I want to feature people like Mylene who have crossed my path and touched my life, inspiring me toward greatness. Too many of us fail to see greatness in ourselves. Somehow, it doesn’t seem to matter what we have achieved; we often need others to point out to us how we excel. People display “greatness” by their attitude, their lifestyle, their choices, their actions… I want to recognize the people in my life who lead by example.

How did I meet Mylene?

I met Mylène when I decided to do a Body fitness competition. Mylène appeared to be a very grounded woman and really approachable. I have been fortunate to meet her and see her evolving in the Fitness world. She as won many competitions. I am impressed by her discipline and dedication. Theses are all the titles she won:

What motivates you to exercise?Mylene Clapuyt - weight training - Nanaimo- fitness competition - Personal training Nanaimo
Working out is like a drogue, it brings me so much each week, keeps me stable mentally, I function better and its vital for me.

What activity/workout do you prefer?
Weight training in strength or endurance is definitely my favorite.

What is your biggest accomplishment?
I am proud that I won my first Pro competition in 2014 in Toronto and to have been able to keep my physique all year around.

What is your superpower?

What is your favourite cheat treat?
Cheese cake, chocolate, caramel, peanut butter or brownie with ice cream.

What is your favourite dish/recipe?
I can eat huge salads that I improvise with a wide variety of veggies, nuts, fruits and proteins.

What are your goals and dreams?
I want to be able to keep training until I am 100 years old. I would also like to participate in a competition with people from all around the world.

Advice for a newbie?
Believe in yourself, don’t get discouraged, stay consistent and keep focus on your dream.
