When I was a teenager I was really depressed. I was sad that we were destroying the forest, the animals and polluting. I didn’t see the point of growing old, having a work to make money and contribute to the same cycles of destruction. I’ve wished so many times to die young. Let this be a lesson: Thoughts are really powerful!
I had a big call to do a Yoga Teacher Training to heal myself.
I didn’t even had the intention to become a teacher but mainly use it for self growth. I started to browse on internet for different YTT I could do and wanted to do one that would fully immerse me and transform me. I found a chakra yoga school, they offered 3 months (340 hours) yoga teacher training once a year in Victoria and once a year in Thailand. The next thing I knew, I boarded a flight to Thailand, quit my job, said goodbye to my partner at the time and flew out of the country for the first time alone to go into this journey.
This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I am grateful that I followed my gut feeling and didn’t listen to others that told me a thousand reasons why I should not have done this. The program was intensive and was really focus into self healing and growth. I learned so many tools to heal my body and mind, that I still use to this day. Most of our day at YTT was focus on breathing, chanting, dancing, practicing yoga postures, having lectures about nutrition, chakra system and so much more. Was so amazing to be able to take this time away for myself.
When I came back home, to my own surprise, I started to share and teach what I learned with others. People gave me positive feedback and it’s been so empowering to be able to help other in their journeys. I often doubted myself and it’s been an ongoing learning journey but now I know how powerful I am. I am not a victim of my life and the world around me. I decided to be the change I want to see in the world, one breath at the time. To cultivate inner peace, equanimity, kindness, patience. To be able to experience this and share with people around me been such a beautiful gift.
Not everyone has the luxury to take off for 3 months like I did! This is why doing a yoga teacher training during the weekend is a great option. Doing a yoga teacher training is also a great way to deepen your practice – not necessarily to become a teacher. If you’re curious about the training I am offering this spring, over eight weekends, let me know! It’s is going to be an amazing experience and I would love to share it with you.
